Plein Air Painting Workshop in the Hudson Valley

Three Days/Three Nights
We are excited to return this Spring to two of our favorite sites for the upcoming Hudson Valley Painting Workshop June 10-13. We will spend the first two days painting at Olana, the magnificent historic home of Hudson River School painter Frederic Church. Built on a hilltop overlooking the Hudson River, Olana is considered an American masterpiece of architecture that juxtaposes Victorian and Islamic architectural features. Participants will have an opportunity to tour the house and the gardens during our time there. The third day we will paint at Damsel Gardens, a charming flower farm, also on the Hudson River. Both sites offer a rich variety of views and subjects for painting.
Beth will offer instruction, through demonstration on mapping out a specific subject of choice and a step by step process of drawing and painting. Painters will choose a view they prefer and will be instructed individually and as a group.

Accommodations and Meals
at
Shady Glen Farmhouse
Ghent, NY
The workshop includes full accommodations at Shady Glen, a 19th century restored farmhouse on 160 acres with a swimming pool and pond. Participants gather each evening on the terrace for a glass of wine and a selection of local cheeses and charcuterie. Dinners are farm sourced and prepared by talented local chefs. Breakfasts and boxed lunches for the workshop are provided.
